Hi I have been on DLA for over 15 years I am 67 years old but had a letter telling me my DLA would cease and I would have to re-apply for PIP I rang straight away and answered a few questions was told I would have a form in the post, three weeks on and no form so I rang and they said that the first form had to be back by 20 April but they would issue a new one which would have to be back by 3rd May, and today after three weeks the first form arrived, not leaving me much time to get help to complete the form, so a dilemma would it be better to wait for the new one now? I need time to fill this form in and get letters from doctors etc.,, I think I a going to wait for the new form, oh I am in a dilemma what criteria do you use when you ask for extended time, they did advise me I could do this. Could someone help me many thanks
Although the forms are bar coded, as far as I am aware the code only contains your name and National Insurance Number so there should be no problem using the first form and returning it by the second date.
The forms being delivered late should be good reason for an extension to be granted if you need it.
