How old can evidence be for a PIP appeal?

I have received my PIP decision letter which is disregarding some evidence I provided from 2014 as the DWP are categorising it as too old. However, they have accepted my Patient Summary which documents all my medical history from years ago.

When does evidence become too old to be considered as valid? Is there any case law on this that I could look at? I want to submit a mandatory reconsideration and am trying to gather new evidence but want to challenge that particular comment if possible (alongside other things). Any advice you can give would be much appreciated. Thanks

The DWP tend to depreciate any evidence that is more than two yeas old but that does not mean that you cannot supply older information but its validity will depend on your conditions and whether they are ones that would not improve with time.

I'm afraid I'm not aware of any Case Law in this area.
