I sent my PIP form in for the date required 6 May. Was advised by welfare rights that they were running at 3 months+ in getting appointments for face-to-face assessments. Just had a text saying they have appointments in my area over the next seven days and to please call them if I am available. Is this normal? Could they have contacted my GP and got a factual report back in that time? Seems very quick.
As you have seen from another topic these texts are simply to fill holes in assessors diaries, you don't have to accept one of these if you do not want to.
We would expect you to hear about an assessment in 3-6 weeks from returning the claim form.
They may have contacted you GP but this only happens rarely so they probably have not.
