Advice requested from DWP to assessor regarding MR was created by AB123
I called DWP and was told the they have requested advice from the assessor regarding my MR for PIP. My MR included an MRI report that backs up my symptoms as well as a diagnosis. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks

The DWP have no in-house medical support so they have to refer any new medical evidence back to the assessor for comment.

Sorry to post this onto ab's thread, but would the Decision Maker refer it back to the original Assessor? That's a worry because if the original assessor was incompetent or not properly trained or just not good enough or biased or verifiably lied/got something wrong (either deliberately or otherwise) in the assessment report, then it should surely not be given back to that same person, who messed up the first time around, but at least to a different person at Atos or Capita?

I don't disagree but the DWP DM will have the view that the report is correct, that's why they send it to the same assessor.
