I worked in paid employment from April to April full year in the previous tax year 2017-18,
In 2016-17, I had a full year, but I was claiming income based ESA and I had to subsequently work from September-April.
The 2016-17 record says NI credits 50 weeks, Paid employment 109.82 pounds. It also says 'these may have been added to your record if you were ill/disabled unemployed, caring for someone full time or on jury service'.
On the eligibility criteria am I likely to be eligible for contribution based ESA?
To meet the Contribution Conditions you will need to meet the following
- a minimum of 26 weeks of NI Contributions in either of the two Tax Years 2015-16 and 2016-17 and - a minimum of 50 weeks on NI Contributions or NO Credits in both of the Tax Years 2015-16 and 2016-17
The Tax year 2017-18 will not be usable for claims until 2019.
