we made a recording of home assessment for personal use but didn't mention it to HP. In her observations HP put down a few things incorrectly, which made me look more able-bodied than I actually was. For example, she wrote that I was able to have a normal conversation and demonstrated a good memory and concentration (my husband/carer did most of the talking because I just couldn't follow); she wrote that I refused a physical assessment, while she never offered one. I thought it was because we told her that i was having a bad day and I really struggled to talk, and she was kind enough to spare me.
I read that making a recording for a private use is legal, and I don't need to inform the assessor about it. Should we mention it to give more weight to our statements or it can backfire with DWP declaring the whole assessment void or pulling some other card off their sleeve?
You can mention it but I would not expect it to have any impact on the MR, DWP Decision Makers don't review the tapes made at authorised recordings so your "unauthorised" one won't fare any better.
