I had my Pip assessment yesterday. I don't think it went well, but don't know yet. Because of one of my problems, I'm supposed to to be assessed by a doctor. I asked if the assessor was a doctor, they replied that they don't employ them and that she was a nurse. Can this be my first point for when I have (as I'm sure I shall) to gripe?
Although there is a list of conditions that are supposed to be assessed by a doctor there is no legal requirement for this done nor can you assume that the person who assessed you was not qualified to do so, just because they were not a doctor.
It may be that the assessor was not qualified but if this is the case then you will need to show this through their opinions in the assessment report and by reference to your own evidence. You will need to show that those opinions are inaccurate or inappropriate for your conditions and would not have been made a doctor.
