Making contact with Assessment Services etc.

I have a problem folks. My brother who has physical and mental health issues had a PIP domiciliary assessment recently. He, since that assessment was done, received a letter informing him to attend a f2f assessment at the Health Assessment Advisory Service at their new premises in Glasgow. Since that letter, he received a letter sent to him by his GP supporting him for a home visit. I, acting on my brothers behalf, contacted their appointments department which is based in Cardiff and spoke to a young lady about cancelling the visit to their assessment centre in Glasgow and told her that I had a doctors letter asking for a home visit to be carried out and where I could send the letter. Now here is the problem, do I send the GP's letter to the assessment centre or do I send the letter to their appointments department in Cardiff. Or better still, I could hand deliver the letter to the assessment centre in Glasgow as I only live 7 miles from Glasgow city centre.and receive a signature from someone at the centre.I was told that I could not gain access to the assessment centre as the G4S security would stop me unless I had an appointment. I again offered to give the letter to the G4S guard but I was told that it could not be guaranteed to be given to the correct dept within the assessment centre. The appointments lady?? said that she would cancel the due appointment which was scheduled for 27 Sept 18 which she duly did. She then informed me that I had to await a new appointment and that the letter could be then sent to the assessment centre on the address in the letter. No doubt the letter would be sent to the assessment centre via their mailing centre in Wolverhampton to be forwarded to their centre in Glasgow. This is the utterly stupid system designed to frustrate claimants into abandoning their claim as the DWP employ the devious assessment companies to do their heavy work like assessing claimants. I tried telephoning my brothers JobCentrePlus for help and assistance on the matter but their archaic telephone system just keeps me from actually talking to a human being. The appointments dept is the only place I could speak to someone who I might add was very helpful in a sort of roundabout way. Has anyone else on B&W experienced such pathetic service fro these organisations I would love to hear your stories. Sorry for the long winded message.Tom

Don't bother with the DWP, the decision about assessments lies with Maximus (HAAS).

You should be able to email the information to them

www.chdauk.co.uk/contact-us

Send it to the Customer Relations team and then follow up the next day.

As they appear to have cancelled the original appointment, your brother must attend the replacement appointment, you/he cannot re-arrange again.
