Hello I received DWP letter informing me that as I had not attended WCA on 31/10/18 I am capable of work from 1/11/18. I could not attend and my daughter did call to say that. I fell the week before and already have disc herniation and severe sciatica and had to be carried to bed by family member. I could not change the appointment due to already cancelling one to request a home visit. I have just sent a Mandatory Reconsideration request to DWP but would like to know if I need to do this or can I make a new claim just because I missed my work capability assessment.
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
You can make a new claim for ESA, providing it is still available in your area and is not now UC but you will not be paid until you have attended a new face to face assessment, so there is some value in delaying your decision on this until the MR has completed.
