IS to UC - confused was created by ChroniclySickMECFS
With Universal Credit being pushed out by the gov (delay or no delay, it is inevitable), income support is on that list of those who are going to be swapped over to UC. What however will happen with carers who are also in receipt of IS due to their caring duties? Will they be moved over to UC and have to go through the same hell that many others are going through meaning carers might be more stressed to do their job and cause the person they care for to have less care while the carer sorts it all out? Given CA is £66.15 per week, it's not something many can live on without the support of IS.

I'm afraid a claim for Income Support as a carer is no different from any other claim for IS so claimants need to be prepared for the move.
