Waiting times for ESA home Assessment

Hi, I received a letter dated 01/02/2019 stating that have been allowed a home visit for the wca medical and that I would receive an appointment in due course. 7 weeks have passed with no news? Is this length of time normal, should I be concerned, do I need to query what's happening?

There are long delays in the ESA assessment process and I would expect these to be even worse for home assessments as there are a limited number of assessors who do these, you can chase Maximus for an update.

Update:

had a phone voice message asking me to contact them regarding appointment. Rang back and was told that the date/time they were going to offer has been filled now. Asked when I was likely to get an appointment and they couldn't say, just have to wait for another phone call. Not had a phone call before, usually just an appointment letter.

After waiting 3 months, I finally had a home assessment. The assessor was very calming and showed an empathy with my condition and it's lifelong disabling effects on every aspect of my life. He read the letters of support from my psychotherapist detailing that the sessions in my case were to try and help reduce some of the anxieties I experience and that, at best, she only expected modest gains. Also the copy of my last assessment in 2016 where he agreed that my condition had not improved. He also noted how the waiting time along with the DWP process has only exasperated my condition. He told me not to worry as he would be recommending that I was not fit to work.

Do you know how long the wait is likely to be before I hear the decision envelope drop through the letter box? it's been a month since the assessment so far

regards

We have been quoting 4-6 weeks for an ESA Decision but we are not getting much feedback on ESA at the moment so I don't know how accurate the quote is.

You can ring the ESA office dealing with your claim for an update, Decisions can show on their systems a couple of weeks before the claimant receives the Decision Letter.
