Newbie!! was created by McMahon
I was given this site name some time ago but have had difficulty in trying to navigate it. I was on enhanced rate of PIP for daily living allowance for 2 years with 15 points. I had a home assessment in July and was notified in December that I was reduced to 4 points!!! I did get standard mobility which I wasn’t awarded before. I have gone through the process of mandatory reconsideration to no avail and no I have a tribunal date for next week!! I’m now in panic mode and not sure how to prepare, like many other people in the same situation.. can anyone help me to get through this with my (fragile) sanity intact please! I do have a welfare officer but don’t find her helping me or approachable to prepare for this daunting meeting. Any help and advice will be so much appreciated.. thank you, Shona

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm afraid there is little that you can if your hearing is next week but there are still some things that you can do to prepare yourself for the questions that the panel might ask you.

Go back through your last claim form, the assessment report which should be part of the DWP's submission and our PIP Claim guide to make sure you understand why you have lost the points.

Whilst an inaccurate report is almost certain to have played a part you also need to consider whether you have properly explained your problems in your claim form, is it possible that you have misunderstood the Descriptors, described your problems in terms that do not match the Descriptors or failed to make appropriate use of the reliability criteria or the need for your limitations on the majority of days to be considered?

Make bullet points about why you do meet the criteria for a higher award. Do you understand how you scored the 15 points last time?

If there are glaring errors in the assessment report then make a note of them but stick to issues that would help you score points

Whilst the following is a staged ESA Tribunal it will give you some idea of how things are done.
