Hello
At the moment I claim pip and working tax credit. I also live in a full UC area. Were my circumstances to change and I was not able to work could I claim ESA (CB) or would I be directed to UC because of the area I live in.

If you have a minimum of 50 weeks of NI Contributions in the two Tax Years preceding the year of your claim, for 2019 these are 2016-17 and 2017-18, then you can claim New Style ESA which has replaced ESA(CB).

If you don't then it would be UC.
