ESA Not ticking the mobility box was created by stan
Hello.
It took me weeks to do my ESA50 form. I have variable conditions and trying to explain them is hard. With PIP I was awarded higher mobility. So the ESA form comes and I normally tick 50 metres, but that would contradict my PIP award. So I was going to put it varies and explain, as that's what I did with PIP but I was advised not to on other forums, and realised I send it off and didn't tick a box for mobility. I did write that I didn't feel any were applicable. Should I phone them up or send that page in again and tick a box. With everything else I put it varies and explained in the box.
I don't want to be called for a medical simply because I didn't tick a box.

As long as you explained on the form then it should not be a problem
But be aware; ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking, it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.

Thanks. I did think it was walking test and I do waffle and wrote extra information. I cannot propel a wheelchair by myself. I thought I;d be less stressed now its gone but not so, I am going over everything I have said.
