Hi Gordon,

I'm a newbie here and I'm not sure if you answer universal credit questions.
I was looking for help online to fill out a PIP form and found this website :)
I had a Universal Credit Work Capability Assessment and received the result
of being put in the not fit for work or work related activities group.
I've had M.E since 1997 with relapses. I had worked full time for 4years until a
relapse 29/10/18. In the result letter they wrote that they may reassess me in the
future and that they would contact me at the time to tell me what I need to do.
Then yesterday in my pay statement it says that the benefit cap doesnt apply to me
until 7th October 2019. That's in 6months time.
My question is that from what I've read that those in the not fit for work or work related
activities group that the benefit cap doesnt apply to them. So why does it say on my
pay statement it only applies to me until 7/10/19, when on my result letter there is no date
of a future reassessment only that they may reassess me in the future. Does this mean
that i will have to go through another stressful reassessment in only 6 months time?

Many thanks
Karolyn

I'm not sure what is held on the UC computer system but for ESA there is an entry for your reassessment date, so you can try calling the UC helpline to see if they can tell you the date.

Again, if this was ESA I would be able to tell you what the date is for but unless it is by coincidence, your reassessment date, the date in your letter is not when your award will be looked at.
