Should we ask PIP to refer to the DLA information given in the 90s, or just leave it as a new application? My husband's application for DLA was when he was declared as blind, but he had some sight, but this has deteriorated over the years, so would it be helpful for the application to show things have deteriorated?
Hi Sonia You need to treat PIP as a completely new claim, with a different set of criteria than DLA. It's important that you show how your husband's physical and/or mental condition impacts on the criteria laid out in the PIP form and include any additional medical evidence you have. Do have a look at the PIP guide which sets out how to fill out the form.
