ESA/UC HOME ASSESSMENT? was created by Skonstantinou
I’ve made a new claim for health reasons. I’ve been sent an appointment for assessment to attend. I rang up and told them that I wasn’t able to attend. I requested a home assessment they said that I would need a letter from my GP and even then they would probably refuse plus they had to fax it over to them, they did this. Another date was sent again I couldn’t attend on Tuesday. Today I recieve a text to say not to forget to attend on the 22/6 at 09:10. Surely I’m entitled to home assessment by law. Can anyone please give me some advice I’m at the end of my tether. They don’t care.

Hi Sophie

I am afraid there is no law that says you are entitled to a home assessment. You can ring them and check they have received a fax from your GP and read it, but if you do not hear from them saying you have been granted a home visit you must attend at the assessment center on the date given or you are at risk of your claim being closed.
