HI Purity

You haven't said which benefit you are talking about.

If you are just sending in your PIP or ESA form - then you can write to the DWP dealing with your case. The address will be on the form. The letter will need to be clear in stating why you need a paper-based review - this would be because there would be significant distress or harm to yourself or someone else.

If you have already been invited to a face to face assessment - you will need to cancel that appointment and send a copy to the provider and the DWP. Be warned that about 95% of claimants have a face to face assessment (PIP).

Hi Purity

I don't have a figure for ESA reassessments - but government figures printed in March this year show an increase for 2018 in the number of people being reassessed.

You can read about it here.
assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/governm...mmary-march-2019.pdf. Make of the figures what you will, but it is clear there is a push to assess more people rather than just do a paper-based review.
