PIP short length of award age 62 was created by sugaplum
Hi,
Although successful with both enhanced, I was rather disappointed to only be granted the benefit for 2 years 4 months. I will be 64 yrs and 7 months when it is up for renewal again. I wonder if this is because of my age? I am not sure if the age for applying for PIP is 16 - 64?? I had previously been on DLA 'indefinite'. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

As long as you have an award you can continue to receive PIP past the age of 65.

I can't explain the short award, the length of the award is supposed to reflect the likelihood of change but we see too many awards like this for claimants with long term conditions.

The only positive I can give you is that the next award, if the proposed changes are made, will be for an On-Going Period.
