UC work groups was created by jecutter
Hi, could anyone help please. My PIP was reinstated after being stopped in Dec, to cut a long story short I appealed and just before the appeal I had a phone call to say that it was reinstated.
I worked part time so had applied for UC although was on ESA and receiving disability premium since having cancer in 2015 and suffering the effects. I had a near breakdown not being able to handle work so stopped. Now Universal Credit are saying I am not in the right work group to receive anything extra than the standard rate. I am in a 'limited capability for work and no work requirements' group. If I was in the 'limited capability for work and work related activity' group I would be eligible for the extra amount. Whats the best way to go about handling this, should I appeal to change groups? Thank you

You have two options;

- Providing the Decision that placed you in the LCW group is less than 13 months ago and you believe that it was wrong and you should have been placed in the LCWRA group, then you can request an MR and if necessary an appeal of that Decision.

- If you now feel that you should be in the LCWRA as your limitations have worsened then you can report a Change in writing and ask to be reassessed.

In either case, you will need to show how you meet one or more of the LCWRA Descriptors.
