Hello

|I am in receipt of contribution-based ESA, in the Support Group. I have received a letter from ESA Interventions Dudley, advising me that "we have looked again at your circumstances and decided there is no change to your ESA". The letter goes on to advise that they have used information provided to HM Revenue and Customs by my pension provider to come to this decision. Back in October 2018, I had already advised the DWP that I did not want them to look at my claim in relation to my eligibility for income-related ESA, as I am not eligible and never will be. What a complete waste of time, postage and paper this current letter is then, as it is just telling me what I already know.to be the case. The letter does advise that I should notify them of any changes in my medical condition, as well as my personal circumstances, but I am assuming this does not mean I will not be subject to further review of my ESA entitlement. Your clarification in this regard would be appreciated, please. I am actually 18 months past my planned ESA review and that is why the arrival of this letter gave me, I suspect, false hope that I would not be bothered again. It is now nearly 31/2 years since my last review. Is this not uncommon? It is some years since I last posted on the forum but your brief response to my queries would be very welcome.

Thank you.

Hi Spridgett

ESA reviews generally happen every three years but there are a great many people who have gone four, five, or six years from their last reviews and are suddenly find themselves reassessed - so no you cannot assume that you will not be at some point in the future.
