ESA Deferrals? was created by phrank
Hi there,
Having read some of the recent posts on the forum, I seem to be reading that several members have reported having their WCA deferred for two years.
Is this just a random selection or are the DWP really trying trying to cut back with assessments, the ones that which they deem unessassary, due to time - and more importantly expense?
Just wondering.
Thanks,
Phrank.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

There is no information in the Public Domain about the DWP's policy on deferring ESA assessments so it is impossible for us to comment.

Thanks Gordon,
Was just wondering if there was any truth in the statement earlier this year by Amber Rudd the former DWP secretary in which she said that she was concentrating on getting assessments down.
Not sure if that meant for PIP, ESA, or just in general.

The person I'm helping out is 14 months into an ESA. review that's never materialised...
However , having just been through a Pip review (no change, higher award of both ) I'm daring to believe common sense is breaking out at the DWP!
(After many years of the facing the exact opposite, it'll take more than one cycle to believe we're not just lucky for once)
