Your son should be receiving his UC allowance plus the Carers Element plus anything else that is included, for example; Housing Benefit and then the Carers Allowance should be deducted, I work this out to be £238.50 a month.

Your son should be entitled to the carer element. Does he get the limited capability for work element or the limited capability for work and work related activity element in with his UC? If so it will affect his carers element.

Apologies, I should have checked rather than relying on my memory, you were correct receiving LCW or LCWRA elements can affect the payment of the Carers Element.

Sorry for the long delay. Apparantly the jobcentre said he is getting the right amount.
It seems very low but maybe that's because he is 24. Thanks for everyone answering though

Hi apple78
You are correct when you say his age will affect his entitlement for UC.
Single standard allowance for under 25 is £251.77 pm
Single standard allowance for 25 ad over is £317.82 pm
