Contacting your MP re DWP PIP decision was created by Stellio
I intent to ask for a MR after a disastrous DLA- PIP transfer where I have been awarded standard care but zero mobility after 10yrs of high rate care and mobility on DLA. I am in the process of gathering further evidence and highlighting large areas of the report that either contain inaccurate information or has been excluded completely by the HCP. Luckily I have a witness. I would like to know should I inform the DWP when requesting a MR that I have contacted my MP to make them aware of my case? Unsure what to do as don't want to give the DWP the impression that I'm 'threatening' them. Sorry for the ramble. My head is all over the place. Thank you.

Hi Stellio
There is no need to inform the DWP that you have contacted your MP, unless you want to. There are plenty of people who contact their MP for help so the DWP will be used to it if one suddenly contacts them.

I’ve just done that. I contacted my MP and within two weeks I’m back in the support group where I should have been all along. I also completed an MR but I don’t believe that got me back in the support group. The MPs letter did.
