Hi again, my daughter received a form to complete regarding esa underpayments which she sent back to dwp. Its been 19 weeks and so far she has had no reply not even acknowledgment of receiving her form or even a decision. She has adhd and overlapping aspergers and is too scared to contact them should i contact them on her behalf or is the amount of time waiting about right? Many thanks.

Yes, I would chase them, your daughter will need to be present for the call to answer the security questions and to authorise the DWP to talk to you.

thanks gorden i actually managed to persuade her to call and from what she could gather (she has problems focusing) her form was received but as yet has not been processed and i dont think even looked at yet and there was a huge backlog being delt with, i heard her myself getting flustered and telling the person on the phone sorry for calling but she is not very assertive with matters such as this but realised she needed to check her form had been received as in the past her lack of assertion has led to problems. I asked her what their reply was when she said this and she told me the person replied back to her not to worry it will be a while before the matter would be dealt with and its not as if any of her benefits are being affected however long it takes! ..... you just could'nt make it up gordon.
