Crypto Currencies - Savings OR Asset?

I have been trying to find out whether cryptocurrencies are classed as a SAVINGS or an ASSET.
I know if you are on ESA benefits, the limit for personal savings is £6,000, but nowhere on any websites does it mention what classification cryptocurrencies come under.
Does anyone know?

The limit is not on personal savings but household savings and assets, I can't see any cryptocurrencies would not be included.
