PIP medical assessment was created by Ryan13
I am appointee for my autistic son. The medical is in 4 days time. The appointment letter says "It is important that you attend the face-to-face consultation because if you do not attend with Mr ...(my son), it cannot go ahead." However, my wife is his best spokesperson and understands him best. Can we both attend the medical with our son?

As the letter says you must but there should be no problem with your wife doing so as well but I would contact the Assessment Centre to make sure that they have no issues, for example; that the room in big enough and that there is seating for all of you.

you may need to be careful in the interview, you have a right to speak on behalf of you son but your wife does not and the assessor may be unwilling to for both of you to be speaking to them about your son's problems, if they tell your wife to be silent then she must or they may terminate the assessment for failing to participate.
