My husband put a claim in for PIP as he was asked to apply after being on DLA for 12 years. He was on medium care and highest mobility. My question is if he is we put the application into them in July and he had an at home assessment on 1st November and they give him enhanced rate instead of standard (which is the same as medium care) would they backdate the award to July when we had to apply.
No, they will not backdate from the time your husband claimed because he was still in receipt of DLA. When you receive the decision you will be informed of the start date - which is within 4 weeks.
