Have they accidentally given me ammunition? was created by Alison
I was called for a PIP F2F assessment at 9am last friday. Waited half an hour before they came and said they were having IT problems but would be with is ASAP. Came back at 10 to say they would need to slot me in with a different assessor when she finished her current assessment probably 10.30ish. When I asked about rescheduling she clearly said she would prefer me to be seen as she didn't want to risk a change affecting my benefit !! Just before 11 we were told it would be a bit longer by a different person so I said to her that surely if they could not keep the appointment and had to reschedule that should not affect my claim at all. She agreed but said It would be a shame to leave now as they were just finishing up.
Eventually called at 11:45. This meant that me, my assistance dog and friend/supporter had been kept waiting in an uncomfortable waiting are for nearly three hours. Added stress for sure.
Also she had less than three minutes between previous claimant leaving and us going in so she could not have read the information on me properly and she clearly didn't know much about the complicated but somewhat rare disorder I suffer from.
We have kept notes. Don't have a decision yet but surely they have already given me good grounds to appeal if it is not a good decision?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Assessors are not required to read the claimants information before the assessment, in fact, one the Assessment Providers (I'm afraid I can't remember which one) has told their assessors to read it after the assessment.
So, I'm afraid you cannot rely on this if you have to challenge the Decision, that does not mean that you cannot mention it but you will need to provide more substantive reasons to get it revised.
