An Easy "Tribunal" win? Or a Foregone Conclusion?

I was placed on the standard rate of PIP, despite my having been on higher rate DLA for over a decade. Mandatory Reconsideration took 6 weeks, but they had omitted to read my GPs letter, so they re-Mandatory Reconsidered me- a total of 12 weeks. I then decided to get advice of going to a Tribunal, and was lucky enough to get this free, and professional, and as a result, we decided to go ahead. We sent in an application for a tribunal, stating that "Evidence to follow", so it was just the original evidence at that stage.
A letter was sent to me on the Monday, by the tribunal, arriving on the Wednesday, telling me that a date would follow "In Due Course".
On that SAME DAY a letter was sent from the PIP people, telling me that they had decided to award me the enhanced rate on both Care and Mobility, as they had the tribunal application! That arrived on the Thursday, in the same post as the Tribunal service told me that I would not be getting a tribunal date!
In addition to my getting the benefits paid at the level that I had requested, my 18month reconsideration date was also changed - to 10 YEARS!
Do they have a list of cases where they would give in if a Tribunal was threatened, or, if not, how did they manage to get my Tribunal application to the top of the pile, read it, analyse the case and the evidence, and reach a decision that was so different to the initial decision, with no additional evidence, ALL IN 1 DAY?
I would be VERY Interested to hear from any other person who has had a similar experience. It does seem Very odd that they can change a decision in moments, when it takes them 6 weeks to do a Mandatory Reconsideration, on the identical Evidence!!

Whilst unusual we do regularly see members reporting similar action by the DWP, I have actually replied to another member this evening about the very same subject.

How the DWP can make these Decisions is I am afraid a mystery, I would just accept it as it is and move on,

Congratulations on the revised award and however it was made, well done for getting it looked at again.
