PIP mobility and bus pass with accompanying carer

Hi. I have a bus pass with accompanying carer issued by my local council. My carer travels for free as without my carer I am unable to catch the bus due to mental health problems. I have evidence of this bus pass being granted to me. Would this evidence be enough to meet under PIP mobility, planning and following journeys, the descriptor in terms of psychological distress “cannot follow the route of an unfamiliar journey without another person.....” Thank you very much for your advice.

Hi Lucy Jackson

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

The bus pass itself would not be evidence enough to meet PIP criteria, when you completed the application for the bus pass you probably had to show medical evidence, this evidence could be used in a PIP application, have you looked at our PIP Claim guide?
