ESA, 14 weeks and counting! was created by SUE C C
Hello again.

I posted my completed Capability for Work Questionnaire by recorded delivery, to The Centre for Health & Disability Assessments, Nottingham on Thursday 5 November 2019. It was tracked, signed for and delivered on Friday 6 November 2019. So, 14 weeks on and with no confirmation of my Questionnaire being dealt with I telephoned the DWP and asked if they could update me on the progress of my ESA renewal application.

A very pleasant gentleman, Paul, confirmed that they had indeed received it, but he was unable to provide me with any sort of timescale of if or when it would be looked at and if or when I might need to have another face to face (I had my PIP F2F this Wednesday) I am unsure if this is the usual amount of time applicants are having to wait, but thought I would just post it here to let other forum members know. Fortunately I am still receiving my usual ESA, support benefit but waiting for the white envelope confirming an appointment, date & time for another F2F is a bit stressful.

There is no point your contacting the DWP about this stage of the process, they are not involved and as you have found cannot provide you with any information. You need to contact Maximus also known as HAAS.

Evening Gordon

Many thanks for the correct contact. Are you able to say how long it might take before anything else might happen? My transition from Incapacity benefit to ESA was a paper decision and I was placed in the support group so I don't know if 14 weeks is the norm.

There doesn't appear to be any norm at the moment some claimants are getting appointments in weeks others have waited months and some are approaching a year!
