Hi louise

I assume we are talking about DLA: you can get an indefinite award for DLA but as most people on this forum will tell you, that they now have been reassessed and moved on to PIP, for some it has been a hard long fight. Children who are awarded DLA will be reassessed on their 16th birthday for PIP.

We cannot tell you how long the award will be or what rate you will receive if you are successful, as there are many factors which has to be taken into consideration. DLA is based on the amount of time a claimant needed assistance in relation to concepts such as care and safety. It all boils down to what medical evidence you can provide and are they receiving any specialist care.
