Esa medical dilemma was created by Trace780
After sending my esa renewal form back i got for my date for my medical. Sept 19th. I asked for my medical to be recorded and had sent with my form the template letter from B&W requesting this. When i arrived they said they knew i wanted it recorded but i should also had to ring them before hand and that they only had one set of recording equipment.
I was kept waiting for over 1.5hrs before being called to the reception to say that they could not record it as the equipment was with someone else and their interview was running late. And that i should come back another time unless i was happy to go ahead without this being recorded. I said i was not willing to come back and would wait as it was to stressful. At this point i burst out crying. I was then told id have a long wait. Another hour later and i was called back to the reception again to tell me that the said recording equipment had now broke and id have to come back. I said no i just wanted it over and done with as id been waiting 3hrs by this time. I had to wait even more time.
When i went into the medical room. I was asked basically only one question regarding toileting needs and that was it. The interviewer said she didn’t need to ask me anymore as i would not get it on my mental health or mobility grounds even though these are my most prominent issue.
Until Dec 9th i had not heard anything from dwp on the outcome of my medical and my advocate had to call for me. We asked for the outcome and any duration of this outcome and was told they don’t usually give this out. Eventually we got them to end me the outcome letter and the medical report from atos which i received today.
I have been given 15 points only on the question she asked me (toileting). They have not given anything on any other area asked about in the entire esa form. These 15 points do entitle me to being on the support group but why have they totally ignored all the other stuff and will this affect future esa. Should i be asking any questions and looking for answers. I feel like a bit of a scapegoat for them as they mucked up through the whole medical process.
I did covertly record every minute and word said when i was in the atos building for my medical for own records.
Any input from you all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Providing it is accepted that
At least once a week experiences:
(i) loss of control leading to extensive evacuation of the bowel and/or voiding of the bladder; or
(ii) substantial leakage of the contents of a collecting device, sufficient to require cleaning and a change in clothing.
then you will be placed in the Support Group.
Assessors are told that if there is compelling evidence that a claimant meets one or more of the Support Group Descriptors then they only need to assess those ESA activities. From your post, this sounds as if this is what happened and there is nothing to worry about.
It's not clear from your post whether you have actually received the Decision Letter yet, if not then you will have to wait for it to confirm what you have read from the report.

Hi Trace,
I have just read your post. I was placed in the support group due to multiple conditions / illnesses etc.
I requested the assessment report and the bumf from the DM. There was no mention of or a breakdown of my points.
All except i was awarded points for mobility issues. So i guess as Gordon has pointed out, that they only need to write in their report one illness or condition that qualifies a claimant rather than stating multiple conditions.
But in saying that my report was quite detailed, which reflected how my illnesses conditions affected me, and causes me severe mobility issues.
So it was easier for the assessor to simplify this as a mobility issue to the DM.
I also thought about enquiring about why my other health issues were not included in points, ie with my bladder and toilette needs etc.
But i decided not to pursue or complicate things, as being placed in the SG sufficed.
Kind regards.
Regards.

Thank you both for your answers. Im glad i asked the forum as i usually do get points for all my other issues and usually have had a full report so this one threw me a bit. Ive never had a medical like it.
It will leave it at this as i could not take the stress of questioning why they've not looked at any other areas. I do now have the report and the decision letter which i had to request just last week but they had not sent me correspondence until this.
Once again, thank you and have a lovely Christmas
