I hope someone can advise me please. I am 'appointee' for my son who had been receiving some income support. In addition his Council pays his council tax.
Today he received a letter from the ESA (Jobseeker) advising him that they were depositing £23 into his account and if he wanted to know further he has to call them and find out why they received this. For the past two years he has been receiving approx £500 a month leaving allowance. He has severe vision problems and mental health problems. He is now in a terrible state about receiving this letter.
Has anyone received letters like this, and if so, why.
If you are his appointee then you should phone the DWP for an explanation of the payment. I'm afraid I have no idea why it would have been made. You might also want to make a complaint if the letter was addressed to your son, it should have been sent to you.
