today i received my mandatory reconsideration notice
they have not changed there decision apart from 1 extra point for help with medication, giving me 10 points for the living part and 12 for mobility
it looks like they have not even read everything i wrote and basically just gone with the pip assessors lies
if i go to appeal how long am i looking at before it happening and do i contact welfare rights before i send my appeal in ? i cant believe they did not increase my points for cooking and dressing .
is there a chance that when they know i am making an appeal that they could change there minds and look at it again?
also i made a complaint about my assessor , im sure it will fall on deaf ears but while talking to them they said that they had medication and medical reports from my doctors
when i asked for a copy of the assessment should i have been sent copies of the doctors stuff
but when i asked for my reconsideration dwp said they had not asked for things from my doctors and my doctors have said nothing was asked for.
he told me they have to have medical history and medication history before they can do the assessment is this correct
any help with this would be gratefully appreciated
regards rince

Appeals in most areas of the country are taking 45 weeks some longer. It's up to you to decide whether you need help from welfare rights in preparing your appeal.

The DWP will look at the case before it goes to tribunal in order to prepare the papers. Sometimes they do change their mind, but there is no guarantee of this, and if they do, it is most likely to occur just before a tribunal is about to take place.

When you ask for a copy of the assessment - the only thing you will receive is a copy of the report - nothing else.
when i asked for my reconsideration dwp said they had not asked for things from my doctors and my doctors have said nothing was asked for.
The DWP rarely contact GP's or consultants at any stage of the process. They only do this if they think they do not have enough information to make a judgment.

Forgive me but I am confused, you have had a Decision, I don't understand why an assessment is pending?

Hah! Sorry to butt in here, but might that explain why there's a second reconsideration on my caree's file, dated a couple of weeks before her tribunal date, which is rather more advantageous to her and which the DWP have been keeping quiet about - or is this something different?

I don't know why they would keep quiet about it, but the inner workings of the DWP are often a mystery.
