Aids and appliances was created by phrank
Hi there,
Recently a friend set me an Alexa device up mainly to remind me to take my medication throughout the day. Would this count as an aid?
Also I also depend on a dossette box would this also count?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Phrank.

Hi Phrank
A dossette box is an aid. If Alexa helps you in a similar fashion, then you can put it down as aid. It's not yet listed as one, but that's what it is. I can't tell you whether they will take any notice of it.

Thanks, BIS.
Also, on the same sort of subject; would a grab rail fitted in the shower room and an adjustable shower stool count as well?

Hi phrank
Yes a grab rail and an adjustable stool you use in a shower can be classed as an aid but you need to explain how they help you as an aid, such as, you have to sit down to shower as you are unsteady on your feet or you loose your balance. Any aids that you use you need to explain why you need them and how they help you.

Yes Phrank, they both score you points for washing and bathing. I use a shower stool and grab rail in my wet room and they were both noted in my PIP report.
