Hi all

I just had a PIP home assessment.

Thanks to Benefits and Work brilliant guides I knew that there were descriptors for PIP that cross overed with ESA and that the benefits can link. I prepped for these descriptors.

What I didn't expect was to get ESA questions that are not in the PIP form at all. I received 2 definite ESA questions and a few others that were woven within the PIP questions. One of those ESA questions was on blackouts and the definition I was offered of what constitutes a blackout was very different to what is in Benefits and Work's guides.

I'm sharing this to advise you to ensure you are familiar with your answers on BOTH the ESA and PIP forms before attending any assessment. I'd also add whilst it's very pleasant to get a friendly assessor remember they are not your friend. I suspect it's a technique to build rapport in order to unearth discrepancies in your assertions.

I've never had an assessment like that one. Be prepared everyone!

Wishing you all luck.
