Hi c

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I'm afraid the time you have been waiting does appear to be quite common at the moment. A lot of members are reporting delays. The only thing you can do is keep ringing to check on the progress of your claim.

Hello Charlotte.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're still waiting. I have a funeral to attend tomorrow/today... and as I cannot sleep I thought I may let you know what happened to me today.

I applied for PIP in June 2007. I was awarded points but not what i should have been so I went to mandatory reconsideration then tribunal.... i was awarded standard on both. Wont go into the whys and wherfores

My illnesses deteriorated and I was so scared to put a change of circumstance in because of the pain they put me through before. Genuine illnesses have been overlooked and a tribunal found in my favour.

I still did it and after weeks of my hubby doing the phone calls to the DWP today was the final straw.

He rang them and was told a 12 to 16 weeks wait. My husband had been told 4 to 6 weeks, every week he rang. Yesterday was five weeks since it was sent to the CM.

I simply couldnt deal with that. I was and am in my bed trying to deal with what leaving my safe place to say goodbye to a good person... i was angry with the whole situation.

My hubby was put through to a CM. At my hubbys insistence .... he doesnt have my illness and tries to be the nice guy.

I couldn't let him deal with the phone call. Not after being told by a brummie that ..... that's the way it works.....
I heard the whole phone call and fight came into me. He spoke to the cm he had been put through to.

Long and short.... i chose to speak to him.... it was hurting to do so.... i was shaking like a leaf he xame back to say that he could award me enhanced on both.

I pressed him to sort out something else as to the time length that was put on the assessment report .... he rang back to my husband and said he would d9 what he could.

I for one await the result. I have enhanced on both. He told my husband and I that we can appeal the length of the award... 18 months on a 18 dl and 22 mobility.

Do contact them and get an answer... if i can do it... someone else can

Hi Jo2468

I am not sure if you can appeal the length of the award, if you did try and appeal you run the risk of loosing what you have already been awarded.
