Hi,according to the "Entitled to" calculator, I would be approx £25.00 per week better off by switching from IR ESA Support group to UC.I understand that if I change there is no going back.Would such a change mean a new medical assessment etc,or should I stay where I am ! ?Thanks.
Yes, Support Group claimants can be better off under UC than ESA.
Your existing award should be transferred to UC without the need for an assessment unless you are due one anyway. The transfer is a manual process so you will need to chase the DWP to make sure that it happens and you need to keep an eye on your payments to ensure there is no recoverable overpayment.
