Waiting ages for a ESA response

I can't understand why is it taking so long, I have never had to wait this long before.
Is this length of time usual? Has anyone else had to wait this long?
Thanks

We have heard of delays on the forum but that does seem to be a long time, I know DWP were having postal issues. You need to contact DWP enquiry line 0800 169 0310 and ask what is happening to your claim, I take it that payments are still being made?
If you cannot do it, ask a friend or family member to contact them for you, but you will have to be there when they make the call due to data protection.

I’m in the same boat. Completed review form now awaiting a decision from the DWP on my DLA to PIP and now ESA.
I become very unsettled and depressed. The point is you can’t change anything initially regarding the the decision. Just call them and ask the status of your claim. It could be all is well and you need do nothing else. If the result is not what you expected at least you can make plans as to what your next move will be.
I have no idea if I alone in this but our post is delivered around 2pm each day. 6 days a week im looking for the brown envelope. One arrived two days ago. It took me an hour before opening because I thought it was the DLA-PIP result. It wasn’t, just to say ESA will increase from April.
I started DLA-PIP transfer last August. It now with the DWP DM I hope. I cannot express how stressful and mentally draining it all been.

I'm afraid if you can't phone or you don't have anyone to make a phone call for you, you will just have to sit it out and wait until you hear. If your money is still coming through you know either no decision has been made, or they have made a decision and you haven't had the letter.

You are not alone, my post arrives around 12 dinnertime. I hardly get any post, but when I do hear the letterbox rattle, my heart jumps. I hate that time of day. You are right, it is cruel.
