Hi there, I'm pretty anxious at the moment, so apologies if this starts to ramble.

My GPS have been investigating possible cfs/me for a year and a half (been as much use as a white crayon) and I'm having an ultrasound on my liver in 3 weeks to rule out any liver problems. Hopefully, this will be the end of the investigation and they will diagnose me.
I've been given a Uc50 to fill out by my work coach (I'm currently on a fit note saying 'chronic fatigue under investigation) but as I haven't been diagnosed yet, is this possible? If so, what am I meant to put in 'about your disabilities'? My work coach knows about everything I'm going through (he's been very understanding actually) but didn't say anything about this.
I hope someone can relieve the confusion! Thanks

Hi Ruby S

I completed a UC50 form about 5/6 weeks ago for a client they had very little medical evidence.

Use our guides to help you complete the form. Our UC and ESA claim guide explains the criteria that you will need to meet.

He went to his assessment on Monday last week and received notification via his Journal on the Wednesday informing him that he has been put in the support group. It took 2 days, from assessment to notification, the quickest I have come across so far, unless members of this forum know different ;-)

Remember it is not the work coach who is assessing you but an assessor who does not know you, they can only go by what they have read about you and what they see at the assessment.

When I was applying for PIP I didn't have any formal diagnosis for my ME/CFS either.

The way it was explained to me by an advocate was not to focus on the diagnosis (or lack of one) or the medical terms but on how the symptoms effected me.

The guide here is very useful on working out how to put everything in words and also prompting you to think of things that you may have forgotten as it's just become how life is for you now.

Best of luck with it all!

Think we can match that: my son had an appointment lined up for f2f on a thursday (cant recall the date but was in january) 2 days beforehand on the tuesday, we got a call from the assessment centre to say not to come, cancelled as they have new evidence.

Couldnt tell us any more on the phone. I go into the work journal about an hour later (i am my son's appointee) and the decision letter is already there!

Paper based decision, of course i dont know the exact date that decision was made but about an hour from learning of the decision to finding out he was lcwra group. Super quick!

Hi Ruby

Use the guides on the site to help you with the form filling. DWP sent my GP a form to fill in and once they received that I was placed into the LCWRA (Limited capability for work-related activity) group without having to attend a face to face assessment. They notified me in the same way as Gary described above via my UC journal so check emails regularly. I too had a very understanding work coach and I made regular contact with him via my journal so that I had answers to queries in 'black and white'. Good luck with your claim and I hope you get some answers soon regarding your health.

Hi Anisty

Fantastic news, so it is not all doom and gloom out ther, can anyone beat Anisty?

Can anyone beat my client after an assessment - 2 days for a decision?
