Next Assessment was created by mobbba
It took me 2 years and 5 months to win my enhanced awards back after losing them on transfer from DLA to PIP. in May 2019.
I had to go to the upper tribunal and won my case at the second tribunal. I got my award for 5 years, but it went from when I was refused PIP. So I actually only have 2 years and 7 months to my next assessment.
I am 70 years old and I thought I had heard that the assessments for older people were being relaxed.
I thought I had also heard that they were making the length before next assessment for older people to 10 years.
Will I have to go through the same assessment process in 2022 and fight for my benefit again?

Could you please advise? I don't think I could go through that again : ( Thank you

Hi Mobba

We cannot say with any certainty of what will happen next because the DWP has yet to make any official announcements. We would expect you to be subject to a light touch review (because of being a pensioner) and in time when you are close to your review, you should hear from the DWP about it. But as there have been no official announcements about what they are doing or the time frame or process, I am afraid you will have to wait and see or you could try ringing the DWP and asking them. Some people have already heard about this, but they appear to be contacting those that are close to reviews first and you have a while to go.
