It's almost impossible to say what is 'normal' at the moment. Over the past year, waiting times have varied considerably across the country and although there have been no official announcements members on this forum and others have reported being told over the phone that there is backlog in dealing with benefit claims. Having said that, eight weeks is a long time and I would give them a ring to see what progress has been made with your claim.

Thank you, I did ring them and they have received my claim and I was told it's now with the medical assessors, so now I think it's just down to waiting to see what happens in this world of change.
