Telephone / Paper Assessments was created by furrypusscat
Hi everyone. Posted previously on PIP home assessment and cancellation due to coronavirus. The health professional stated when she rang that I would probably have either a telephone or paper assessment but couldn't guarantee it. Who makes the decision and who carries out the telephone assessment, I assumed it would have been the health professional who rang me or is it DWP. Does anyone know please?

Assessments are carried out by the Assessment Provider contracted for your postcode, the DWP has no in-house medical expertise. The AP will also make the primary Decision on whether it is to be done over the phone, a paper based review, or that there is insufficient information to make a recommendation.

Thank you Gordon. That was what I thought would be the case that Capita would be doing the assessment so I also assume that the HP who should have done the home visit and who I spoke to briefly on the phone will make the decision on whether it should be phone, paper or f2f assessment. I await to hear what the next stage will be.

Hi furry
Please let the forum know when you have more information, at present everything is quite fluid and getting accurate information can be quite hard.
