Just today received a ESA capability for work questionnaire for my wife who already has ESA. It is due back 23 April. Last assessment about 18 months ago. A few months ago she won an appeal for PIP. Can I reuse the documents used for the PIP appeal to send with the new ESA50? And does the delay in assessments affect what we should do? I'm stressing for her, don't want to involve her before time.
Without any official notice from the DWP to the contrary, you need to return the ESA50 by the required date, there are no extensions available for completing the form.
Yes, you can use the documents you used for PIP but if they were specific to the claim then you will need to explain their relevance to the ESA criteria, whilst there are areas of overlap between the two benefits they are limited and the criteria are different, there is a document in the ESA areas that explains where they are similar.
