carers allowance was created by Tony818
In September and October of this year my wife and myself will be claiming state pension. My wife will have carers allowance stopped and my ESA claim will finish. Will we be able to claim any form of benefit relating to my physical disability for the continuous help my wife provides for me.
I am at present claiming PIP at the enhanced rate for both sections. My wife will be able to claim full pension, my pension will be approx £70 less because of missing years of NI etc, which I fully understand. Any advice would be appreciated. Kindest regards. Tony

No, there is nothing that you can claim for your disability that you are not already receiving but you may qualify for Pension Credit although your pensions may mean that you have too much income to be eligible.
Your wife's CA cannot be paid as it is an overlapping benefit with her pension but she remains entitled to it and there would be a Carers Element payable in the PC which will make it more likely that you will receive some money.
Put your information into one of the online benefit calculators to see if you are eligible

Hi tony
Unfortunately you come under the new regulations for mixed aged couples. I have come across it a few times. Your wife will still be able to claim CA until she receives her state pension as it is based on you receiving PIP. If you pay rent, then she will have to apply for UC and to claim the housing element. Once your wife reaches state pension age then you may be eligible to claim Pension Credits www.gov.uk/pension-credit
You can see what you might receive by putting your information into one of the online benefit calculators.
