Dear Gordon In October 2019 I received the migration from DLA to PIP assessment. They agreed not to give a face to face interview and instead contacted CPN. They told her that they would make a decision in 6 weeks. They told her I would be awarded PIP but didn't know at which rate. I still have not heard back from them. Do you know if during corona virus have they suspended doing new awards . Im still receiving DLA and received a letter saying my DLA was for an indefinite period so Im confused about the PIP application Thank you
Many people were awarded lifetime DLA - but as this benefit ceases to exist everyone is being migrated onto PIP which is treated as a new award. I'm afraid we have no idea of what is happening with DLA to PIP awards because it has not been mentioned in any Government announcements. However, at least two members have recently gone through the change, so we suspect it is ongoing. You either just have to sit and wait until you hear, or you or your CPN try and find out what is happening to your claim. Unfortunately, there are lengthy waiting times on the phone.
