Pip telephone assessment was created by Flower
So I had my telephone assessment. She was really nice but it didn’t go well, at the end she said “just because someone doesn’t get award PIP doesn’t mean there’s not a problem, but that it’s not in the realm of PIP. But you can always reapply.”
Disappointed to say the least but what can you do? I do think I qualify but is there any point in doing a mandatory reconsideration? I dunno if I can handle the stress of it

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Flower
I am sorry you have had this experience. In two days time you should be able to ring up and get a copy of the assessment report. That may give you an idea. If it is as bad as you think it may be, then you might want to write to the decision maker challenging what has been said - before the decision comes out. Then you should wait until you receive the decision and decide what you want to do. I can't say whether it is worth it or not - because only you know how much stress you can handle. Sorry this has happened.

Thanks so much for the response. I think I’ll do that as you suggest and request a copy of the report. Are you sure it’s just two days I have to wait till I can request it? Also do you think the report will give an indication as to what kind of decision will be made? Thanks again

Thanks so much for your response. I responded but I’m not sure if it went through. Are you sure I only have to wait two days till I can request the report? Do you think it will have an indication as to what decision I’ll be getting? I’m new to all this and this is my first PIP claim. Thanks again

Hi Flower
Your post will only show up when it has been approved by a moderator.
As BIS has stated, prior to covid-19 we told claimants to wait a couple of days before contacting DWP for a copy of the assessors report (PA4 V3).
There is a small window for you to write to the Decision Maker but you will need to be quick.
Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion when they say that you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said.
Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.
Make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.
Lastly, make sure that your letter makes it clear that you are not requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration but you reserve the right to do so once a Decision has been made.

Just to update I got a text today saying they received my report 2 days after my assessment. I called and requested a copy which they said will take up to two weeks to arrive. Once I read it and write a letter to the decision maker like requested, who do I address it to?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
