PIP decision changed after MR but short award date was created by dinkmack
Hi,
I received a decision about my MR today. It has changed from 0 to 8 points for daily living.
I was really pleased about the decision and then I noticed the award date. It's awarded from April 2019 to July 2021. That means they are going to review me again in 2 months.
Is this correct or do you think they've made a mistake with the dates?
Thanks for any help.

Hi Dinkmack
Congratulations on your MR decision.
Regarding the award length, I don't think it is a mistake, but you can always ring and query it. Be aware, reviews have been sent out approximately 6 months before the end date, so you definitely will not be reviewed in two months' time. It is more likely to be around Jan 2021.

Thank you BIS, that's good to hear.
I had mixed emotions. I was happy I was getting pip again but anxious about having to be reviewed again in 2 months. Your reply has made me feel more at ease

Hi dinkmack
I've had similar with mine & they'll look at it again at the end of July 2020. Although disappointing it's good to know we have some extra time. At least we got the assessors report overturned, & that alone is a win for me. Perhaps that's what DWP are doing, allowing the MR but with a very short term award. Not everyone can go to appeal & I'm sure questions would be asked if that was the case, not good for DWP.

Thank you for your support wing and bud
I am pleased about it but I think I should of been awarded 12 points for mobility but I only received 4 points.
I was considering appealing but I couldn't face sitting in front of 3 or more people.
I'm agoraphobic and suffer with social anxiety. I would have to do a paper based appeal.
I'm also worried about losing my current award. Not sure what to do
Maybe I should just leave it as is and see what happens next year.
Thanks so much benefits and work for your great guides.
They helped me a lot.
